Interior of the Property:
Lounge - The large entrance hall leads to a stylish double aspect living room, with sumptuous settees and a chair that provide seating for 8; these are complimented by teak furniture and a large fireplace. There is Freeview TV, a DVD and a CD players, as well as a surround sound system; there is also a Playstation and supply of games, and a variety of films on DVD. If you’re feeling adventurous there is even a karaoke machine! Childrens games and jigsaws can be found upstairs in the cupboard.
Kitchen - The kitchen provides contemporary units, beautifully hand finished in light oak with s/steel appliances, including 4 burner electric hob, fan oven, dishwasher, large fridge/freezer, microwave, and toaster. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, with all the necessary cooking implements for that gourmet meal! There is a separate breakfast area with a table and chairs for casual dining.
The washing machine and tumble dryer are located in the utility room adjacent to the kitchen. An iron and ironing board can be found in the cupboard under the stairs. As the boiler is situated in the utility room it makes an ideal drying space or for hanging additional coats. An outside door gives access to the rear of the property without the necessity of steps; it also leads onto a small sheltered patio.
Off the hall there is a downstairs cloakroom with a full size pedestal sink and toilet.
Dining room - The dining room has large solid birch table and 8 chairs table. Additionally, there is a bookcase with a good supply of books for all ages, so the room can be used as an elegant dining room or a quiet reading room.
Family room - Double glass doors lead from the kitchen into the family room; here you will find 2 sofas and a TV, again with Freeview and a DVD player. With large glass windows on 3 sides, this room always catches the sunshine all year round. The sliding glass doors leading out into the garden and onto the large patio which is an ideal sun trap for alfresco dining, summer evening BBQ’s or romantic drinks by the chiminea.
Upstairs there are 4 comfortable bedrooms and a large family bathroom containing a bath and a separate shower, toilet and sink.
All the bedrooms have plenty of storage space.
Bedroom 1 Has a four poster double bed, and an ensuite with a toilet, sink and shower.
Bedroom 2 Has two 3ft single beds, these can be joined on request to make a super kingsize double bed. Bedroom 3 Has a double bed.
Bedroom 4 Although smaller than the other three bedrooms, this also accommodates a double bed.
There is also a linen room where spare bed linen and blankets are available should they be required.
Exterior of the Property:
The house is reached by its own private driveway and there is ample parking for 5 cars. The beautiful wrap around gardens are well equipped, with a large patio, BBQ, chiminea and a wooden table with 6 chairs. The garden is fully enclosed with access through the gates. There is a lovely pond in the garden with small waterfall and fountain; if you’re lucky you will even see some of the fish that hide under the water lilies. Pheasants will regularly visit for their breakfast and dinner, and you may see deer in the garden or walking past the house from the woods or even grazing on the grassed area adjacent to the house! Red squirrels can also be seen in the woodland closest to the house. You may also see swallows and woodpeckers among the many birds visiting the garden. The rural location means the minimal light pollution giving clear views of the stars in the night sky.
Towels, tea towels and linen are included within the hire cost; for guests staying longer than 1 week there will be a change of linen available.
A travel cot, booster seat and high chair are available on request. All heating and electricity are included in the price.
Families with young children should be aware of the pond in the garden which reaches a depth of 1m. The house is no smoking, and sadly pets are also not allowed although we can recommend holiday accommodation for your pets.
